Relative Changes in Inflation in Top 10 Global Economies

This week we will look at how the inflation has moved relatively in the Top 10 Global economies as measured by 2010 PPP GDP.

There is no surprise that Japan has had thethe lowest inflation since 2000. It is interesting to note that, in spite of fears of deflation in the USA in recent years, USA appears only once in the list of countries with lowest inflation.

Another interesting aspect is to see China moving from the low inflation group in early 2000s to the high inflation group in some of the recent years.

It is also interesting to see that the Eurozone leaders such as Germany and France have recorded low inflation in recent years. This makes the dichotomy between ECB policy and FED policy even more stark.
