TD Bank is testing new AI-based personalization capabilities within its mobile app. The new tool called MyTD is using “subtle AI” to comb through customers’ transaction history and offer personalized recommendations and predictions. MyTD examines each customer’s individual data to support suggestion alerts in the main body of the app to help with financial decisions and future expenses. If a customer agrees to see suggestions, the tool then offers tailored advice and options. AI Accurately Diagnoses Abnormalities from Chest X-Rays

Researchers at Seoul National University Hospital have confirmed that AI-based diagnoses system can diagnose abnormalities in chest x-rays with higher accuracy. The team tested the AI diagnostic system's ability to read chest X-rays on 1,135 patients who visited the emergency room from January to March 2017. The reading sensitivity was 82% to 89% higher than the on-call doctor’s reading. The reading sensitivity also improved when the on-call doctor made a diagnosis based on the results of the AI diagnosis system. Read More

A study conducted at Thomas Jefferson University in the US has used the approach of ultrasound images being analysed by machine learning programmes as a quick and non-invasive approach to thyroid cancer screening. AI Can Spot Signs of Brain Tumor to Speed Up Diagnosis

Researchers have developed a test that could help improve brain tumour survival by making diagnosis quicker and more efficient. The test relies on an existing technique, called infrared spectroscopy, to examine the chemical makeup of a person's blood, combined with an AI program that can spot the chemical clues that indicates the likelihood of a brain tumour. The researchers tried out the new test on blood samples taken from 400 patients with possible signs of brain tumour. Of these, 40 were subsequently found to have a brain tumour.
